Objectives

In the field of HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE we are:

  • creating and moderating discrimination free web space for intercultural dialogue;
  • developing resources for international NGO-cooperation through the Internet;
  • organising seminars, training courses, conferences and festivals in the topic;
  • coordinating and supporting efforts of local activists.

For YOUTH PARTICIPATION AND DEMOCRATIC CITIZENSHIP, we work by showing how to make maximum use of the Internet in order to influence democratic structures and processes on the local, national and the international level. We also act for making/keeping the World Wide Web democratic inclusive, transparent, free and open for everyone.

In the field of SOCIAL COHESION AND INCLUSION OF YOUNG PEOPLE we are:

  • promoting lifelong learning and creating learning tools and materials (mainly for learning languages) that are accessible for everyone, no matter what background they have, and that usable both online and off-line, in the context of non-formal as well as formal education;
  • actively supporting multilingualism as a necessary condition for non-discrimination;
  • fighting against violence on the Internet and for making Internet a safe place for children and young;
  • training young people in how to develop, implement and fund their ideas, and how to multiply and disseminate their results.

When it comes to the YOUTH POLICY DEVELOPMENT, we are developing innovative approaches to training, international cooperation and research. We are continuously improving an open source, human based system for translation of any web-content, that already resulted in truly multilingual (10 to 28-lingual) websites translated to minority languages as well as the "big" national languages. That system doesn't only encourage multilingualism, it even enables real time international cooperation on developing and translating website content. One of our 2008 projects is a tool package for research on youth on the Internet, another one is a campaign for celebrating the UN's International Year of the Language that will include a variety of local "offline" projects and developing new ways for promotion of language rights and multilingualism as well as for using language learning as a trigger for intercultural dialogue and intercultural learning.
